Dexter is 4 months

Dexter turned Four Months on November 25th.
Here are some interesting Dexter Facts:
  • 25 inches
  • 16 pounds
  • 60% for both height and weight
  • Head size is 16.5 inches.  That is what Max's head size was at birth. CRAZY!!
  • He nurses like a champ.  He is going through a growth spurt right now, and if he could would eat 24 hours a day.  But he goes about 2 hours in between feedings.
  • Sleeps at night 6-7 hours straight.  (Last night he did a 8 hour stretch, but I think that was just luck)
  • Takes small "mini" naps.  Not on the best schedule for naps.  We need to work on that.
  • Can roll over tummy to back.  (That happened on 11-12-13)
  • Hates tummy time, but will fight through it.
  • Laughs at Max.
  • Loves his Daddy!
  • His hair is getting even longer.  He does have a spot of "less" hair on the back of his head.
  • He is teething and drooling like crazy.  He is constantly wet with drool.  Bibs are a must.
  • Gets distracted when eating.  He will smile, coo, laugh and then in return not eat.
  • He is very ticklish.
  • He is getting better at bath time, but still isn't a huge fan.  So opposite of Max.
  • He is a VERY smiley and happy baby.
We LOVE having him in our family.

He tried to "eat" the sticker.

Other 4 month pictures:
Before the doctors appointment.
At the doctors.  The calm before the storm.
The storm.
Sleeping at home after shots.  He ate for almost an hour when we got home.

Big Boy Bed

We have been wanting to put Max in a big boy bed for a while now.
His sleep schedule has been so off.
So we thought there is no better time than right now.

He saw Will take the crib out.
He saw Will build the toddler bed and put the CARS bed set on the big boy bed.
And he LOVED all the praise and excitement.

He loved it so much he slept in the bed!

He loved jumping on the bed.  He thought it was so great.

He loved having a pillow, just like Daddy has!
When I went in to get him in the morning, he was still a little sleepy, but was in the bed.  He didn't fall out, or come running to us in the middle of the night.  SUCCESS!!

My silly silly boys

I LOVE being the mama to these two silly boys.
And I love taking LOTS of cute pictures and videos.
This post is mainly that.  Pictures and videos.

Dexter laughing is the best sound on the planet.

Dexter rolling over

Dexter rolled over from tummy to back on 11-11-13.
At first I thought it was an "accident" but then he did it four more times, and then the fifth time I got it on video.
Max* was even impressed, he said "Oh wow!"

*Max so badly wants Dexter to do something.  He wants him to play.

Sleeping Boys

It is a miracle these days when the boys take a nap at the same time.
It is a miracle when Max takes a nap at all.
It is a miracle when Dexter will go to sleep for more than 20 minutes in his little crib during the day.
It is a miracle.

Today was the miracle day.

BYU trips

We live literally 3 blocks from the BYU campus.  We often take "BYU trips" and let Max run and explore campus.  Yesterday his exploring brought him the GREATEST MACK TRUCK he has ever seen.  It was overwhelming to Max, and he wouldn't get close to "Mack" without his Daddy by his side.

Poor Gerald

Max threw Gerald into an oven burner last night.  Tail caught on fire.  Sizzled.  Will saved Gerald.  But his tail is now blacked.  It was a traumatic experience for everyone.

Dexter Faces

Dexter makes AWESOME faces!  My favorite is when he raises his eyebrow.  Crazy boy.

Low Key Halloween

Halloween was very low key this year.
We wore the same costumes from last year.
We put Dexter in a cute Halloween onesie.  I didn't wear a costume at all.
But because we visited great friends and ate candy we had a great night.

This picture is one I will cherish for a long time.  These are some of my old 6th graders.  This group - not all pictured (I had 25 students, a small group that year) was do I dare say it "my favorite" bunch.  I loved all my classes for different reasons, but I have stayed most in contact with this group.  LOVE them!  And now they are Sophomores in HS, and driving, and dating! What is going on?  I am getting old!
