Brothers are the best

Max and Dexter. 
Max LOVES his brother.
He wants to be with him all the time. 
Sometimes he smothers him, and gives him very big hugs and kisses but it is so cute.
We remind Max all the time to "be queit when the baby is sleeping"  to "be so soft" and to "watch out for the baby."  We think Max thinks Dexter is his baby. 
When he wakes from his naps, Dexter is the first person he looks for.  It used to be Daddy but not anymore - Dexter is number one. 

Max has also expanded his vocabulary since Dexter came home.
He now says "Toes, Hair, Nose, Cheeks, Bye-Bye, Hi and can point and wave to all of them."
We know Max is behind in his vocabulary, so we love hearing his voice!

Dexter is helping Max grow up.  Brothers are the best.

Spectacle

Yesterday we went on a walk up to BYU. Max loves it in the Student Center. He runs the halls and up and down the stairs.

I had Dexter in the MOBY wrap and just his hair was showing. 

It is education week so campus was packed. 

We were a spectacle. Max running around with his blonde hair, being chased by Will. I was following pushing an empty stroller and carrying a newborn in a carrier.  So many people stopped us, commented on both boys, asked if they were both ours. The hair on Dexter got a million comments. 

 Max liked watching the people.  He also threw a ping-pong ball he found into the crowd below.

Dexter is ONE MONTH!

Dexter has had some medical complications since being born.
Right now he is on a heart and breathing monitor.
Things are getting tons better, and with prayer and faith Will and I both know things are going to be fine.  He is a strong little man.

Dexter eats a ton - and sometimes I feel like all he does is look and listen for me so he can nurse.  But it has been worth it because he has gained two FULL pounds since birth, and 4.5 inches!
We all thought he was going to be a tiny guy, but I think he is going to be just like Max - big and strong!  His body is fulling out, and he is now in 0-3 month clothing instead of newborn.

Dexter turned ONE MONTH on August 25th.

 Dexter LOVES to smile.  He especially loves to smile at Will. 

We learned this past week that Dexter likes to be swaddled when he is sleeping.  Which has been GREAT for us, he is sleeping in 2-3 hour chunks at night now, which is awesome for everyone!

Dexter has so many fun faces, a lot are exactly like the faces Max makes.

Dexter's Newborn Photoshoot

Our amazing friend Casch took Dexter's newborn photos.  She did a super job and I can't wait to get some framed for our home.  Here are a few of my favorites:

The Bath Helper

Max thought it would be a GREAT idea to jump in the bath with all his clothes on.  He wanted to "help" give Dexter a Bath. 

2 weeks of Dexter

Dexter is now two weeks.  August 9th was my "Due Date" and the day of Dexter's two week check up.  He is doing great.  He gained 10 ounces from his 5 day check-up!

Weight:  7 pounds 10 ounces (19%)
Height:  20.5 inches (45%)
Head size:  14 inches (Tiny!)  (40%)

**It is so funny to see percentages less than 100.  With Max he was hitting 100% on everything up to a year old.  And even now he is in the 90% for everything.  It is crazy how different the boys are.

This means so many wonderful things.  Nursing is going well, and he is gaining weight.  I couldn't be more proud of the two of us!
