A Canyon Crest Christmas 2010

When Will and I woke up this morning we saw this outside:

We were hoping school would be canceled but alas we had to go...but at the end of the day we were so happy we got to spend a day at school with my amazing 5th graders.

THE HOLIDAY CONCERT:
The BEST there ever will be.

For the past month the whole 5th grade has been practicing Vocal Point's "Twelve Days of Christmas."  It is a very hard song and a challenge for anyone.  But for our 5th graders this year we knew they would be up to the task.
After watching the K-4th graders sing their songs, it was up to us to steal the show.  And we not only stole the show - we ran away with it.
We are going to put the video up on YOU TUBE in a private account.  Information to come.

Then after the Canyon Crest school concert, we went back to our classroom to have our Holiday Party.  This year my amazing mom's planned a service project for the kids to participate in.  They made blankets for the Salt Lake City Children shelter.  I was so proud of my students.  They put so much love and hard work into helping those in need.

WILL'S FIRST SNOWMAN
Will has been dying to make a snowman since the day I met him.  Growing up in California snow was not something he got to enjoy.  My students were MORE than happy to build a snow man right along side of him. Here are the picture to prove the vastness of Will's first snowman:

All-in-all today was SUPER.  The best Christmas Day of School EVER!  I am so lucky to be teaching the students that I have this year.  I love them to pieces.

Old Fashion Class Picture 2010-2011

Last week I wanted to have my class take an "Old Fashion" school picture.  I tried to explain what a class picture was like when I was in Elementary School.  I explained how we would line up tallest to shortest in the hallway waiting (not very patiently) to have out class picture taken.

Well I learned why we don't do this type of picture in Elementary School anymore.  Even my PERFECT class had a rough time.

This was their best picture:

My class is adorable

My 5th grade class this year is so cute.  They are honestly the best class I have ever taught.
I have been keeping this big "secret" from them since September.  Even my OBGYN, who has a daughter in my class, didn't say anything to her.
So this past Monday, I had their journal topic on the board state:
What secret has Mrs. Strong been keeping from you?
And how was your weekend?
The whole class thought my Awesome Aide Kalei was engaged, and YES we wish this would happen.  But alas she wasn't, and my class was then more distraught that they couldn't figure out the secret.

Finally, after some pretty funny guesses,  I let my class in on the secret and they were so excited.  It was adorable.  They screamed and ran up to hug me.
So now the whole school knows and people will come up randomly and touch my belly.

Here are some cards I got from the 5th graders:

THE STRONG CLAN plus 1.

On this day in November, Will and I would like to announce:

WE ARE PREGNANT!

The baby is due JUNE 19th.  I am 11 weeks right now, and could not be any happier.

THE STORY:
Will and I have been dilligently filling out our adoption papers.  It is an exciting process, and we were loving every minute of the adventure.
In October my dad came to visit Will and I.  We had an amazing weekend planned, but all I could think about was how tired I was.  I just wanted to sleep.

On Saturday night after dropping my dad off at the hotel he was staying at, Will and I drove to Walgreens.  We bought four pregnancy tests, and when we got home, I took all four and all four were postiive.

There was no emotion to explain how happy I was.  Will and I cried, laughed, and just stared at the positive pregnancy tests.

So that is the story.  We could not be happier.  Other than the night-nausea and headaches I have, and my expanding body, I feel great.  I am overwhelmed with joy, and love.  It is the best feeling in the world.

I have learned in the last few months that Heavenly Father does answer prayers, just in his own time.  Prayer does work.

I will continue to update this FAMILY blog, and I hope that you will come back and see what is going on in the life of THE STRONG CLAN.
