Introducing our newest family member!

Last Saturday June 6th I posted the picture above to facebook.  Most people thought I was pregnant, but if you look at the date, and you also know me and how big my belly gets when pregnant, you could have figured out that I AM NOT pregnant.  We instead we got a FOUR legged friend!!
On Spaceshipmax I explain why we got a Kitten.

Mim was brought home on June 7th.  She was about 5 weeks old.  She is very calm, loves to snuggle, climb and play.  She is a perfect addition to our family.

I have really been trying to limit sharing to many pictures of little Mim.  But our family blog has no rules so be prepared - this post has lots of pictures.
Here is Max and Dexter holding Mim for the first time.  Dexter has been very jealous, and a bit mean to Mim.  Mim is very patient, and Dexter is learning about "nice" and "soft" very quickly.
Mim is truly Max's kitten.  We even emphasize often "Max how is YOUR kitten?"
Mim is very pretty.  She is white and grey.  She is half Siamese and half tabby.

Mim loves to be on Will's shoulder.  She loves to be held and loved on.  And we are more than happy to oblige.
Meeting cousin Charley was a treat.  Max was protective and wanted to sit right next to Charley and Mim.  Charley loves Mim!

Mim and Gerald are bonding.  Which for Max is a huge deal.

Dexter is learning.  Basically we can't leave Dexter alone with Mim, yet.
I have always wanted a cat, and now all my cat dreams are coming true!

Mim sleeps a lot.  She is only 5 weeks.  She has found a bed in this wooden box.

As much as Dexter terrorizes Mim...Mim loves him.  Mim loves all of us.  And we are so glad she came to our family.  She has been a perfect addition.

Dexter's First New Jersey Trip 2015

Dexter and I left on Friday May 29th and headed to NJ.  Dexter did great on the flight there.  He ate M&M's, drank diet coke (I was okay with this as long as he was quiet), and watched a lot of You Tube videos of eggs being opened on the "It's Big Baby Bigmouth" channel.  Does anyone else have toddlers that watch this channel?  Please tell me that mine are not the only ones!?

We arrived 40 minutes ahead of schedule and surprised Poppi.  My dad was so excited to see Dexter, and Dexter ran right up to him and gave him a hug.  It was cute.
First stop - the food store.  Picking up fresh fish was a must.
That night Uncle B got into town late from working in NYC.  My Dad, Brandon and I stayed up way to late talking and it was a blast.  We enjoyed laughing, I drank a ton of diet dr pepper and ate way to many chips.
The next morning I went to the gym close to my dad's house.  They sent me this picture of the three of them.  Made my day!
Dexter was obsessed with all the picture frames around my Dad's house.  He would carry them around and say "Mama" and "Max".  It was really cute!
Uncle B got both Max and Dexter these awesome Italian Soccer Uniforms on his trip to Italy in April.  He also had a matching outfit for himself.  Dexter looked adorable.

So happy to be in New Jersey.  I haven't been in over 2.5 years.

Dexter wasn't a fan of the humidity.  He kept saying "it hot" when we were outside.

Playing with Uncle B was a hit and Dexter loved chasing him up and down the stairs.

We went and visited our old neighbors Fran and Brad, and took pictures in the backyard of our old house.  I truly grew up in a magical place, it was like Calvin and Hobbes backyard.

*We also skyped Sarah who wasn't able to visit us, but it was great to "see her"!
The pictures, I told you, huge hit!
This was before we left New Jersey to head to NYC for the day.
The view from my brother's brooklyn apartment.  Dexter had his first sip of beer, on accident, this night.  He found an empty can and drank the sips that were left in the bottom.  Rebel.

There is no street art that even compares to NYC street art.
We went out to a nice dinner with Brandon and his best Brother Brett.
Uncle B showing him around the apartment.

We went up to the roof of another one of Brandon's friends from high school.  They had a spectacular view.  And we got some amazing pictures.

Monday was a very relaxed day.  We boxed up some things from my childhood, and I found my Oscar the Grouch dolls.  I called him "Ockey" and had to have two.  My Dad said I went everywhere with "Ockey" until Brandon was born, then I got rid of "Ockey" and also my imaginary friends who were named "Dee-Dee and Dun-Dun."  I guess once B was born there was no need for me to have imaginary friends, he was my play-mate.  I told my mom "They went on vacation!"  HAHA!

At the airport:  Our flight was delayed, re-routed, and delayed some more on the way home.  Don't let the smile deceive you, Dexter screamed for three hours on the flight.  Parent fail.
He had fries for breakfast and lunch.  M&M's and soda in between and we walked up and down the Detroit airport over and over.

Overall it was a perfect trip.  I loved being home.  I missed Max and Will and can't wait to talk them back again soon.  I might live in Utah, but I will always be a Jersey Girl.

The Ferris Wheel

We went to Scheels this past Friday night.  (May 22, 2015)
They have a nice size ferris wheel inside.  Some of Max's cousins were there and were planning on riding the ferris wheel.  Max loved to watch it go around and around and when the time came to decide if he wanted to ride, his answer was a BIG "YES"!  So we stood in line and waited.  We asked him again and the positive answer was still there.  Max was riding the ferris wheel.
He got on without any fear at all.
His mom was more scared than he was.
He was a stud.  He yelled with joy.  He waved to everyone below.
Max was so happy.
Until the ride was over and he had to get off.

So it looks like we will be visiting Scheels again.

Zach, Aunt Beth, and Noah.
Look at how happy Max is.
Charley and Uncle Matthew

The happy riders!
