Current Stats (May 2016)

I need to be better about this family blog.
But spaceshipmax.blogspot.com has taken over and also documents our life pretty well so I don't feel too bad.

One important piece of information is that Dexter is growing.  Happy times in our house!  Medication is working.  (When it is the right amount)

Dexter:  28.5 pounds, 34.5 inches (5% for both) (2 years and 10 months) *Still tiny, but growing*
Dexter is also finally completely weaned from nursing.  He doesn't even ask anymore.  It took since Christmas to completely wean him.  I never thought I would nurse him for so long.  But my gut kept telling me not to stop, so I didn't.  And the neurologist told me that nursing most likely helped him calm his seizures and relax him when he had a really bad one.  So I am glad I nursed that long.  But, selfishly, I was very ready to stop.

Max:  50 pounds, 50 inches (99% for both) (4 years and 11 months)
I can't believe I have an almost 5 year old.
He is going to be in kindergarten.  Where did the time go?
So parts felt VERY long but others flew by.

Thanksgiving 2015

We spent Thanksgiving relaxing and eating at Will's younger sister's house.  Aunt Katie has GREAT toys and the boys had fun playing ALL day with new toys and cousins.  We are really lucky family lives so close!

Max is pretty much always naked.  You can read more about Max's adventures here

DINOSAURS!!!

We are REALLY into dinosaurs.
Max has memorized dinosaur names and can match them to pictures.  It is fun to have a new obsession! We watch dino videos, read books, look at pictures and match dinosaurs, and now we have a dinosaur head so we feed the dinosaur.

Fall is the best!

The fall in Utah was beautiful.  It was in the 60's and even 70's until the first week of November.  The boys spent a lot of time outside, and so did the kitty.  She isn't a huge fan of her leash.  Now it is November 15th and it has changed into Winter, with snow, cold wind, and ice.  I can't wait for Spring.  It is going to be a long Winter.

Fall leaves are magical.  They are so fun, they smell good, and are safe and easy things to throw.

Dexter got a big boy hair cut and looks so grown up.  He is also sporting skinny jeans that I found at SAVERS and I am in love with them!  He looks so cute.  He is just a little guy so he can pull it off.

Visiting California October 2015

Both boys fell asleep by 8pm.  Dexter was up two hours later...but we did get a few hours without kids to play video games.

 Cousins.

Poly-high school homecoming parade.  Cousin Michael is in the band.

Dexter jumped in the bath with clothes on.  He hated it.  His clothes were WET!  Imagine that?

Strawberries!!  Max ate two containers daily.

Max didn't wear anything but underwear the whole time we were there.  He has tons of sensory issues with clothes.  He took walks with his Mario underwear on and didn't care about it one bit.

Walden Timp Lodge 2015

The school I work at is pretty amazing!  Each fall they take the school up to Timp Lodge at the Sundance Resort in Utah.  It is beautiful and the weather, even if raining, is always wonderful.  You can't go wrong with the view, and the students love it.  The middle school stays at the lodge overnight, and the high school stays for two nights.

It rained the entire time we were up at the Lodge.  We got really creative with activities and all-in-all the kids had a good time.

Max and Dexter came up to visit me for dinner.  Dexter pretty much has the kids wrapped around his fingers.  The student with the Led Zepplin bandanna on adores Dexter.  He comes from a family of 11 so he is very good with kids, and is constantly asking to babysit.  It is pretty adorable!

Oh Max.  He was the life of the party.  He didn't really like the crowd of middle school students, but boy did he LOVE the microphone!!  He figured out how to turn it on and screamed "HIIIIII" into it.  It scared everyone and he got a good laugh.  He also danced the night away and was pretty adorable.
I made it through the night.  If you know me I don't really do well on overnight anything.  I like a shower, clean bed, my own space, and I really missed my boys.  But I am so glad I was with the middle school students all night.  I got to know them all really well and it truly was fun.

Here is a little video of Max dancing:
