This month sure has not been boring by any means. And it hasn't been normal either.
First, I am so lucky to know that Heavenly Father loves me, and has a plan for me. Without his love I don't know if I would have had the strength to face the adversary this last month.
Second, our family will be together forever. I am glad that Will and I got sealed in the temple, and I am going to be with him and our children for Eternity.
Will and I found out on August 29th that we were pregnant.
I took multiple tests.
Then on September 9th I started bleeding and found out on September 10th that I suffered a miscarriage. I was about 6 weeks along. I was devastated. But knew that I could get pregnant and would get pregnant again. I had Will and our good friend Ty give me a priesthood blessing. In the blessing it stated that there were going to be difficulties along the way, but if we stay strong great blessings will come out of the difficulties. Heavenly Father had heard my prayers and knew we wanted to bring Max a sibling.
On September 23rd we went up to Lehi to bring my sister-in-law and family dinner. On our way home, at about 5pm we exited the off ramp from I-15 to Provo Center Street. We were going about 35 miles per hour. Our light was green. There was a truck that stopped for his red light, but then kept going. We hit him square in the center of his car on the driver side, then spun out and ended up hitting a traffic signal pole on the passenger side. My first thought after hitting the car was "Max!" I turned around without a thought, and that is when the pole hit us.
Will and I crawled out of the drivers side, Will got Max who was crying and had blood coming out of his mouth. We stood there in the middle of it all just hugging one another, I just kept saying "I love you, I love you."
Then I started to hurt bad. Two women grabbed me and put me on the ground.* I remember that I kept asking about Max. The assured me he was fine. The EMT got there, and I insisted they check on Max first, the EMT also told me over and over he was fine. They carefully got me into the ambulance, and hooked up to an IV where they gave me pain medicine. My back really hurt.
Max and Will got to come in the ambulance with me. We were met at the hospital by Joe and Grace Wilson who cared for Max while Will was with me. Jason also arrived and brought cheerios for Max. Grace came back and cried with me for a bit so Will could see Max in the waiting room. How lucky we are to have so many close friends.
*On a side note, the women who were caring for me at the accident scene were amazing. They were little angels. They gave Max toys to play with, and calmed me down. They made me do relaxation breathing so that I could calmly talk to the police. Amazing. People are amazing.
We finally were released from the hospital. I have two herniated disks, and horrible whiplash. Will is very sore, and Max is amazing. My Mom sure was watching over all of us.
The two people in my life that I care the most about walked away with hardly injuries. They are alive. We are alive. I am blessed. Heavenly Father DOES love me.
Our friends are rock stars. They are bringing us dinner and watching Max for us this whole week.
I couldn't have gotten through any of this without them.
So in the end all things happen for a reason. In the moment we don't like to look at the future, but looking back and and recognizing the past helps understand the present.

Oh my goodness, what a horrible accident. You are all so lucky and watched over. I'm really sorry to hear about the miscarriage, but I know you will be blessed with more children. Sending prayers your way.
ReplyDeleteTiffany - I got teary-eyed just reading this! So glad you and your family is OK!
ReplyDeleteTiffany and Will-
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about the trials that you have had to go through recently. Mine, and my family's, prayers will be with you. Miscarriages are hard. We had one around 9 weeks after our first child and it hurt like nothing I've ever felt, but as I turned to my family and the Lord, I found strength and love far beyond anything I had ever felt before. Know that our prayers are your family.
