For Easter this year we packed our bags and headed to sunny California. It was the perfect time for a vacation. Max was getting cabin fever from the long Utah winter, Will needed a break from work, and I needed to also get out of the house before my belly gets to big for me to travel.
It was our last trip as a family of 3 before the baby arrives.
We stayed in Vegas for a night to split the trip up into two days. Really smart idea. We were able to go swimming at the hotel and walk around the Strip. I have always wanted to see the water show at the Bellagio so we stopped and watched. Max wasn't impressed. He was more interested in all the cars that were passing on the street.
**Best part of this leg of the trip - we surprised Max with 9 new cars for the hotel room. It was like Christmas all over again. Hours of fun in the hotel.
We arrived at Grandma's house to find more cars. Max was in his own little Heaven.
I went for my long walk every morning while we were visiting. It was perfect weather and I was able to see the orange blossoms.
Grandma found Williams blessing outfit, and we are going to use it for when Baby Peanut is blessed this fall. So tiny!
More of Max playing with all of the cars. Grandma has a TON!
We went to Cousin Andrews track meet the day we arrived. He throws the shot put and the discus. It reminded me of my high school track days. Fun stuff!
Saturday we attended an Easter Egg hunt. I wasn't sure if Max was going to understand what was going on. He had NO problem. Once Will showed him how to pick up the egg and put it in the basket, he quickly followed collecting lots of Eggs and Candy.
We dyed Easter eggs on Saturday also. Max was very distracted by all of the cars, so he decided to "quicken" the dying experience. He placed all of his eggs into two colored cups. Done and Done!
All of Max's eggs in two cups!
Saturday night the Wyatt's came down and we played the game Will has been working on. It was GREAT to visit with Jake and Kat. It was also fun to see the game in action.
EASTER SUNDAY:
Max looks so grown up in this picture to me.
Baby Peanut and I on Easter.
After Church on Easter we had some diaper time. We played in the back yard. Ate a wonderful meal. Watched Wreck it Ralph. And just spent time talking and visiting with everyone.
It was a great Easter.
Max loved the slide in the backyard of his cousins house.
Monday Morning a BIG tow-truck came to tow away Uncle Doug's car. Turns out they didn't need the tow, but Max was speechless on how big the truck was.
Monday afternoon we headed to the beach. It was Max's first time to set foot in the ocean. We ate dinner at Ruby's Diner. It is right on the pier. Will, Max, Michael and I got pooped on by a seagull. Eternal good luck!
The day was perfect. Max wasn't so sure about all the sand, and was mad at the water that attacked him, but otherwise the day was great.
Max LOVES french fries. He picks up bunches in his hands.
We eventually had to go home.
We did the trip in two parts again. Stopping in St. George this time.

Max was calling all his girlfriends to let them know he is coming back to Provo.
BEST VACATION EVER!
Last vacation as an only child.
Next trip to California will be a whole new adventure.
