Angel Run October 6th, 2012

I sure do have amazing friends.  So many who came and supported my family today.  I would LOVE to thank all of you in person, but this blog post is a shout out for two BYU Cross Coutry team mates.  You both made me feel like I was there running with you.

All of the pictures are from my friend Emily who woke up at 3am to get to the race, from BOSTON!  Yes, BOSTON!  Emily took pictures during the race, texted me before and after the race, and basically should have been wearing super woman wings.  But instead she wore angel wings and wore them proud.
Then another dear friend Breanne ran also.  She won the race, in perfect BYU cross country form!

Friends are blessings.  Running friends are even better blessings.  They are the kind of friends who you shared a locker room with for years, smelled really bad with after training runs, cried with after a bad race, rejoiced in after a good race, met each others families in strange states and cross country events, and then even after years of just facebook and emails will support each other no matter what.  These are friends.  Friends who I have a lot of respect and love for.

My Mom LOVED Emily and Bre.  They both always made my Mom feel special.  Mama Rust, that is what I remember Bre calling my Mom.  I can still see them hug in my memory.

Here are some pictures that Emily took:
My Buddy.  He is looking so old to me.  It is crazy how much he looks like my Dad now.

 This is Emily!
 This is Bre!

This is a typical shot - My dad being a goof ball and my brother laughing at him in the background.

My dear Canyon Crest colleague, Bari, came all the way from Utah to watch the race!  AMAZING!

This picture is of my brother and all his "boys."  My brother too, has the BEST group of friends.  These boys were my Mom's boys for sure.  They treated her like a queen.

My Mom, wearing pink, listening to Stevie Wonder, was running also.  Running with her own wings, running for joy, running in her paradise.

Love you Mama!

Angel's Run countdown

Max, Will and I will be cheering all of the Angel Runner's on from Utah this year.  We couldn't travel because of the accident.  It was a very hard decision.  One that was made with difficulty and tears, but we had to do what is best for our health and our family.

We will be cheering the LOUDEST!

More Pictures by Casch

Casch is awesome.  I told her an idea I had about taking pictures of Max with his trains and she went with it and captured some amazing shots.  I am doing a project for my brother for Christmas.  He gives Max Brio's for his Birthday and Christmas.  It is such a great gift and I hope that Max realizes how lucky he is to have Brandon as his Uncle.

Max is 15 Months

Max was 15 months on September 18th, 2012.  But he didn't have his 15 month doctor appointment until September 26th.
Will and I made a TOP TEN list about Max:
1.  His eyes are slowly turning hazel.  When he wears more green, they are green in color.  It is just like his Grandma Rust and Uncle Brandon's eyes.
2.  Cars are his FAVORITE things in the world.
3.  His favorite car is Lightning McQueen, but won't watch the movie Cars.
4.  Sleeps with a blanket now, or more or less wrestles with the blanket.
5.  He is a climber.  This is an understatement.  He is a daredevil.
6.  Elmo is still his FAVORITE thing to watch.  He could watch ten episodes in a row if we let him.  Will's favorite episodeTiff's favorite episode.
7.  Our good friend Casch and Max have a secret hand shake, it is adorable, and he ONLY does it with Casch.  We need to get a video of it ASAP.
8.  He is learning sign language and can understand more words than we realize.  OUTSIDE is his favorite word.
9.  Max loves being outside.  He will go and grab his stroller if we say the words - walk, go, outside.
10.  He is slowly giving up the bottle.  Slowly.
The Stats:  Max is 28 pounds (He actually hasn't gained ANY weight since his 10 month appointment), 32 inches (he grew 3 inches since his 12 month check up), and his head is OFF the charts at 21 inches.  He scored 100% of everything!

Max wasn't happy that his amazing doctor, Doctor Adam's, was at his daughter's wedding.
This is a comparison of Max at 15 months and 6 months.  He has changed so much.  The things that have been a huge change is his skin color, his eye color,  and his baby fat is slowly going away.  His hair is still blonde, his smile still is huge, and he still LOVES being naked!

Can you believe the next time we go to the doctor Max will be 18 months???
