Max has been super funny this week.

 This is my favorite.  Max closes his eyes all the time when we are looking and then will walk around or shake his head.  He thinks we can't see him.  It is pretty funny.

A Movie MOM is excited for

Did you know all the characters sang their own songs?  And they tried to only do one take so that it was RAW emotions.  AMAZING!

Last Christmas...

My friend and fellow blogger Becky has twins.  She has an amazing blog.  I read it everyday, and sometimes think "Wow, Becky is one cool mom, I need to be more like her!"
So today I am copying her.

Her post for today was "Last Christmas" and she showed pictures of her adorable twin boys from a year ago.  I love this idea.  Thanks Becky.

I can't believe how much Max has grow in a year.  His baby fat is slowly going away.  He has a full set of teeth, which started on Christmas Eve last year when his first took poked through.  Loves solid food, but as of lately hates milk.   LOVES cars - and is hoping Santa, and Company bring him more cars and trains.  I just can't get enough of my little man.  But wow, a year makes a huge difference.

Date Night: Pies and Poetry

Will and I were invited to a night of Pies and Poetry at the Henry's house.  It was really fun, and there were no kids allowed so we had to get a babysitter for Max. 

Pies and Poetry consisted of friends reading poetry, singing songs, reading selections from their favorite books and the partaking of yummy pies.  It was a great idea for an adult date night.

Pies and Poetry was set up in the Henry's Garage with a lighted "stage" area, a mic, and bench to read your poetry from.  Will and I read from the book "Take me out of the Bathtub."  We got some good laughs,  which is exactly what we were going for.

Max had a fun night too, he was partying with two of my FAVORITE students of all time.  Josh Osmond and Brady Shields watched Max, ate pizza and wings, and of course there was Elmo.  Max and the boys sure had fun, and Will and I think we found the perfect babysitters.

 Josh and Brady are best friends and have been since I taught them in 6th grade.  They are now freshman in high school.  They are two amazing young men, and I am so glad that Max gets to hang out with them.  What great examples they are to him.

 As you can see Max didn't want anything to do with sitting on the couch for pictures.

Max's First Track Workout

I went on a long walk with Max that ended up at the BYU track.  Max did some running.  But the best thing at the track was the John Deer truck that was there. 

Learning Experiences this week as a parent

Max has had a fun week for a 17 month old...for his parents...it has been a learning experience.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE #1:  Max is very interested in any maintenance man that comes to the house.  He likes to stick all the dirty nasty tools in his mouth.  

LEARNING EXPERIENCE #2:  Don't turn off Ellen, it turns into a tantrum.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE #3:  Max loves RAMEN noodles, this isn't the problem.  The problem is when they get stuck in the carpet.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE #4:  The i-pad.  Enough said.  He is getting the hang of it and moving all our stuff around.  

 LEARNING EXPERIENCE #5:  Toys DON'T go down the toilet well at all.  Mater went down the toilet and Will had to take apart the whole toilet to fish him out.  Moral - Max still likes the toilet, and putting his toys in the toilet, so shut the door to the bathroom. 

LEARNING EXPERIENCE #6:  Max is interested in toys.  Especially trucks and cars.  If you show him them and then try to leave the store he will cry and have a tantrum.  

LEARNING EXPERIENCE #7:  Daddy is still the coolest cat around!  But we knew this already.  

The joys of a toddler!  I wouldn't have it any other way!
