Baby Peanut has been a dream baby. Will and I have prayed very hard for this baby. We prayed specifically for Max to have a sibling, a friend, a partner through life. Will and I both grew up with a sibling, Will had five, I had one. We both know how important it is to have a brother or sister.
We had a miscarriage in early September 2012. Then we were in the accident. So we kept trying. We knew that having a baby was important. We found Thanksgiving weekend that we were pregnant. It was amazing. I knew I was pregnant. I was EXHAUSTED all day long.
We found a wonderful new doctor, and he saw us immediately after we found out. My HCG levels were very low, so I went on progesterone, and had a blood test done every 48 hours for a week. After the fourth blood test and baby peanut decided it liked my tummy we were told to stop the blood tests and come back for a check at 6 weeks.
I am considered to be high risk, and my doctor deals directly with high risk pregnancies. He is caring and just wonderful. We are so grateful to Heavenly Father because he directed us right to him.
Here is the 6 week ultra sound picture. You can't really see much, except a little "worm" like spot. But it was enough for me to get super excited and feel relieved.
The doctor was concerned because the baby was measuring small, and my uterus was measuring large.
We scheduled another appointment for 2 weeks later. Will's birthday actually. Turning 30, huge milestone, was also the day we were going to hear the heartbeat. I again was nervous. Will has been telling me this whole pregnancy that "everything is fine, the baby is fine." Love this. Love Will. He has so much faith in the Lord, and has always listened to the spirit so well.
The baby looked great. Measured fine for 9 weeks and the heart beat was 158bpm.
Here is the 9 week Ultra sound:
Then this past weekend I started having awful cramps. Long story short we think I might have gall stones. So today we got to see the baby again.
And for me Baby Peanut is really starting to look like a baby. Baby Peanut is moving around, has arms and little legs, a big head (no surprise there), and a strong heartbeat of 162bpm. Makes me happy. Here is Baby Peanut:
This pregnancy has been very different than Max:
I started getting really nauseous at around 6 weeks. I would be nauseous all day. Every day. Max has been watching a lot of Elmo. I also get really bad headaches and am exhausted.
The all day nausea subsided a bit around 8 weeks and now I am just nauseous from about 3pm until I go to bed. Bed is the only place that makes me feel better. Will has been a SUPER DAD! He deserves a cape!
Prayer:
I have always been a huge believer in the power of prayer. And this pregnancy has been no different. I pray for Baby Peanut and my family all day long. I believe in the power of fasting and priesthood blessings. I can't begin to explain how grateful I am to be pregnant. I love Baby Peanut so much already and can't wait for Max to meet his sibling. August is going to be great.
Thank you for your love and prayers. Thank you for your fasting and those of you whole knew since day one we were pregnant for your emails, food, and play dates for Max. You have made a huge difference in our family.
